Join us For Hands-On Wetland Assessment Training in the Lower Mainland!
Wetlands play an important role in flood mitigation, carbon storage, and provide critical habitat to hundreds of species, yet identifying and assessing them in the field can be challenging without hands-on experience and training.
Wetland Assessment Course
This July, the BCWF’s Wetlands Education Program will be offering a multi-session Wetland Assessment Course in the Lower Mainland focused on practical field skills in wetland classification, delineation, and functional assessment using the Wetlands Ecosystem Services Protocol for BC (WESP-BC). Participants may register for the full course or select only the sessions most relevant to their interests and experience. While each session can be taken independently, sessions build on knowledge introduced earlier in the week, so participation in all three sessions is encouraged where possible.
Course Schedule:
- July 6 – Introduction to Wetland Classification (Free)
- July 7–8 – Wetland Delineation (Member: $300 / Non-member: $350)
- July 9–10 – Wetlands Ecosystem Services Protocol-BC (Member: $400 / Non-member: $450)
* To receive member pricing, become a BCWF member prior to registration.
