Sparrowhawk Beaver Co-Existence Workshop
June 29 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Join us for a hands-on beaver coexistence workshop focused on enhancing wetlands while supporting habitat for Northern Leopard Frog. Discover the ecological role of beavers in hydrology, wetland formation, and biodiversity enhancement, and learn strategies for mitigating human–beaver conflict.
Date: Monday, June 29th
Time: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM MST | [8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (PST)]
Where: Kimberley, BC (exact location to be sent upon registration)
Cost: FREE ($100+ value)
Participants will gain practical experience in beaver co-existence techniques while supporting the installation of a pond leveler–a practical, non-lethal water management tool that allows beavers and people to coexist while maintaining valuable wetland habitat. The workshop will include site assessment considerations, pond leveler design principles, installation methods, maintenance requirements, and discussion of amphibian habitat objectives within managed wetland systems.
This workshop was undertaken with the financial support of Wildlife Habitat Canada, the Government of BC, FWCP Columbia, and the Wilder Institute.
